Parent Education:
Why Parent Involvement projects?
Parent involvement projects are important for parent, they help give parents a better understanding of what children learn every day in school. Through parent involvement activities, parents also help extend teaching outside the classroom creating a positive learning experience that helps children perform better when they are in school.
According to the Early Child Education Block,
“Today’s parents are more involved than they’ve ever been with their children’s development.
Except for when it comes to preschool.
Many parents drop their kids off in the morning while the teachers take over, and then pick them up at the end of the day without giving their learning much more thought.
To get the true benefits from early childhood education, however, parents need to consider how they can support what their children are learning throughout the day.”

Connecting Home to School:
The Parent involvement project for this month will be to create a model of a life cycle of the students choice, (e.g, frog, plant, butterfly, worm etc). But before children choose their life cycle parents may ask, what is your favorite life cycle? What do you know about it? Can you tell me the life cycle of…? How do you think we can create the model? Asking all this questions will help children use their cognitive and creative skill. If children don’t have any knowledge about the life cycle parents may search for youtube videos or find books at the nearest library.
The project is due March 11th.
