News from the Library! Hello teachers,
Mrs. Allen and I are working on the book fair back orders with Scholastic. This is very unusual that we are waiting for this many books for so long. Please apologize to your students who are waiting for books and reassure them as soon as their books arrive, I will deliver the books to them in the classroom.
Thanks,
Jackie
News from the Nurse!Fourth and Fifth grade teachers we will be having our Human Growth and Development Film on the afternoon of November 24th. I will have letters/forms sent home prior and there is a link I will have in our parent newsletter for the month -- this allows them to view the information. I need these grades to provide the link and info to your parents in your weekly newsletter. I will forward this link sent from Melanie Brownfield soon.
Reminder from our Resource Coordinator: Please let me know if there is anything you need me to follow up on from parent teacher conferences. If you have not been able to reschedule a conference with a parent or speak with them by phone, please send me an email with the student's name and a sentence or two about your attempts to contact the parents and I will make a home visit. If you met with any parents who identified they had a need for some resources, send me their information and I will reach out to those families as well.
"The Music Man" Building Wide Assembly- will take place on 11/18 and we have asked to have them arrive and perform after our students are done with breakfast and our morning assembly. This will be approximately 30 minutes. THEREFORE-- we ask that all lunch counts be taken care of the day before and dropped off at the office that morning. If this changes I will let you know ASAP.
Foster Grandparent Program: Mrs. Seiner and I visited today with this program and are at this time taking the information to CARE TEAM to discuss. We would like to know how many teachers would be interested in a Grandparent to volunteer in their room and work one on one with a student(s) in math and reading review. Please let Emily know if there are any interests. Our Primary buildings have several volunteers as readers with students throughout the day.
Lady Greyhound Readers: See Mr. Samuel's form he shared out for sign up times on 11/20.
Parent Involvement Nights-- The end of the first semester is December 18th-- please make sure to have this activity planned and placed on our Google Calendar before this date. Third grade has completed this requirement.

- CLT Notes for Monday:
- collaborate about space for RTI--see the form sent for Spartan Time Locations from Brandy. Make sure to submit your area into the form.
- Make sure all groups and supports are in place for Tuesday RTI
- Follow up with your Data for Math RTI if you are still needing to look at your strands of focus/trends in scores/student groupings
- Specialists touch base with the grades you are paired up with for RTI
- Review any math assessments that you will be using for monitoring your students on each week and see if any test items need to be addressed or changed. Specifically, if there is a question that most students are missing-- is it the skill that needs focus; the wording of the question.
- Lastly, address this question-- Do you know the break down of when each skill is taught for your questions used on the Math SLO's? Will/Has this shown up true to the order of exposure in the classroom for those questions in connection with how students are scoring/showing mastery?
We will meet prior for a Stand up meeting in the music room.

Thought for the week: Mistakes are not failures, they are simply the process of eliminating ways that won’t work in order to come closer to the ways that will.
These are those honest mistakes that we felt were right at that time. After all, as we tell our students and so easily forget, making a mistake is an opportunity to grow and learn from something. When a mistake is genuinely made use this as a chance to learn, grow and move forward. This is where new discoveries are made-- so push yourself move forward, make mistakes, regroup and reach out to those around you that are a resource. This is not seen as a weakness, this is where greatness develops from and becomes contagious.
