Peter's Place Grief Support Group

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We are excited to share with you an opportunity for additional support for our middle school students here at Pennsbury. We have partnered with Peter's Place for Grieving Children to bring school based grief support groups to our three middle schools this fall.

We recognize that there are many families who cannot access services outside of school due to a variety of barriers, so we are bringing the support to our middle school campus.

Through the school-based program, students who have experienced the death of a significant person can discover their innate capacity to help and support each other (and themselves) as they navigate through grief.

If you are interested in possibly having your child participate in a school based grief support group for eight weeks for approximately 60 min per week, please complete the google form linked here: Peter's Place Google Form

Once we gauge parent interest, we will be in touch with more information and consent forms for the selected students.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to your middle school Social Worker with any further questions.

Treehouse Emotional Support Group

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We are happy to announce that the Pennsbury Middle School campus will be partnering with a local non-profit organization, Treehouse to offer students the opportunity to receive additional emotional support during the school day.

Treehouse will be facilitating a support group at each of our middle schools to participating youth who may be experiencing a hardship or struggle in his or her life. The goal of the support group is to create a space where our students feel safe sharing what’s going on in their lives and receive support from peers and adult leaders (see attached flyer). The group will meet one time per week for approximately 45 minutes.

If you are interested in potentially having your child participate in this type of group, please complete the google form survey (link below). By completing this form you are simply expressing interest and not committing your child to participate. Once we assess interest, we will reach out to parents/guardians with more information and next steps. Treehouse Parent Interest Form

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact your child's School Social Worker.
