Google Classroom helps teachers create, assign, and collect student classwork and homework paperless. With Google Classroom, teachers can seamlessly integrate Google Docs, Google Drive, and Gmail to create assignments, provide feedback for in progress and completed work, and communicate with their students directly and with whole class announcements--all without using a single piece of paper. Students can work on assignments in Google Docs and turn it in with a few clicks. Google Apps & Extensions for Struggling LearnersCourse Num: 143 (2)
Google Chrome has a library of special tools you can access through the browser called Apps and Extensions that can make your life in the classroom easier. Plus, when you use Chrome, all of the apps, extensions and web history are stored in the cloud, so wherever you login, they are literally at your fingertips. In this workshop, you will learn the differences between Apps and Extensions and how they can be used to meet the needs of struggling learners. Participants will leave this workshop with our favorite Apps and Extensions loaded on their Chrome accounts. In addition, we will focus the majority of the time demonstrating Read&Write for Google, which offers a powerful range of support tools to help students gain confidence with reading, writing, studying and research.Audience: Special Education Teachers

Modeling dynamic movement and kinesthetic activity to enliven K – 2 classroom content is a key part of this course. In addition, this course will focus on discovering the connection between movement, the brain and learning. We will discuss and examine implicit learning, class cohesion activities, content – based kinesthetic activities, brain breaks and energizers.

We will explore and practice using two primary websites, Little Bird Tales and StoryJumper. During this time you can sign up for an account and set up your class or students. You will have time to use the sites yourself and brainstorm ideas of how to use these free web tools in your classroom. This workshop would be great for in-class support TA's to better help students in the classroom and computer lab.

Our brain is a very powerful tool and understanding how it works will us help us, as teachers, better relay information to our students. This course will focus on neuroscience, research on how the brain learns and processes information. We will also be focusing on the functions of the senses, working memory, long – term memory, storage and retrieval and development of self – concept.
