Seco Scoop
Arroyo Seco Jr. High School -- May 22, 2020
Principal's Message
Hello Seco Families,
It's Classified Employees Appreciation Week! Thank you to all of our classified employees for their hard work and contributions to our students' education. We couldn't do this without them!
Thank you to all of you for your cooperation and participation in our textbook drop off this week. It was a huge success and it was so great to see many of you on campus! If you were unable to participate, we will be reaching out soon regarding retrieval of textbooks.
Please note that there is no school this Monday, May 25, due to Memorial Day. Classes that typically "meet" on Monday will meet next Friday, May 29, replacing the regular Friday schedule for that week only.
June 4 is the last day of school. As the year winds down, you may notice a reduction in assignments being posted or collected. Teachers and/or teams are sending out information to families about what the last two weeks will look like in their classes.
Delivery of yearbooks has been delayed due to the current pandemic. We will distribute them at a later time, to be determined once we receive them. This distribution may occur during the summer or at the start of next school year. If you didn't order a yearbook and would like to add your name to a waiting list, please submit your information through this link: https://forms.gle/v8U3umfL37GF48po8
If you purchased a ticket for our last dance, which was canceled, you should have received an email -- please respond to the email as soon as possible.
See below for information about summer school and links to the applications.
We miss all of you and hope you are well. Have a great 3-day weekend!

Just a reminder to check out some of the cool things still being offered throughout the district as the school year winds down.
Although school is closed, we are still here for you at Arroyo Seco if you need to talk to someone or have any questions. Click on the following link to make an appointment, fill out the form, and let us know how we can help. Someone will reach out to you shortly after!
We officially have a Wellness Website through the district where you can access different “Health and Wellness” related resources, including:
Wellness Warm-Line Request Form for the district. The Wellness Warm-Line is a non-emergency resource for all WSHUSD students seeking emotional support. The goal of the warm-line is to provide support prior to a mental health crisis. Some concerns callers share are stress, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationship issues, panic, corona-blues, or are just having a bad day and need to talk to someone.
Resource Request Support for all district families. Any district family/student that needs support during Covid-19, they can request to access support from our school social workers (i.e. food insecurity, housing insecurity, job support, referrals, gov't aide support, etc).
Don’t forget about Wellness Yoga/Mindfulness for all staff, students, and families of the district to support well-being during times of the "Stay at Home" order. Danica, the instructor, is amazing! Every week on Wed, 3:00 pm. The Zoom Meeting link is
