NRW High School

September 2022

A Message from Mr. Bradley...

It has been a great first week back to school at NRWHS! Students have been upbeat and energetic all week, and it has been great to have them back in the building. We are looking forward to a really positive year for everyone!

This week Mr. Shetler and I were able to meet with all grade levels. We shared three primary expectations with students that all staff will collectively focus on this year:

  1. Be on time
  2. Be prepared
  3. Use appropriate language

I am proud of how well the students did with these expectations this week and am confident they will continue to grow throughout the year.

We are honored to have the opportunity to work at NRW and teach the students here. Thank you for partnering with all the staff at NRW and we look forward to celebrating all the incredible things they will accomplish this year. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns through the year. Our goal is to work together to make NRW the best it can be!

Respectfully,

Scott Bradley

NRWHS Principal

Our club advisors are currently working to develop a brief handbook which describes the activities for each club. This will be communicated to families as soon as it is finished!

Gemini Registration

Gemini registration will be Wednesday, September 14 from 11:45am to 12:30pm. Students will need their Chromebooks and a form of ID when they register. Students will need to complete two forms for the process - a Payment form and Certificate of Residency. Students can fill out the Certificate of Residency in advance, but they should NOT sign it. Below are the courses registering this Fall. Please contact Mr. Van Laeken in the Counseling Office if you have questions about Gemini registration.

Chomebooks

Students received Chromebooks last week. As they were distributed, students were reminded they are responsible for their Chromebook for the year. This means not losing it (or the charger) and making sure it is not damaged. Chromebooks will be collected back in June for the summer so they can be inspected and updated over the summer.

Chromebooks should be charged each night so students can use them throughout the day. They are expected to bring them to all classes, as they will often be used for instruction and collaboration. Bringing your charged Chromebook to class is part of being prepared for the day.

COUGAR PRIDE

In addition to teaching important academics at NRW, we also focus on the the development of student character. Throughout the year we will focus on and recognize students who demonstrated our COUGAR PRIDE traits. Each month will have a different theme. Below are the identified characteristics that will be incorporated as part of our social-emotional learning practices and ensuring students are prepared for their future path upon graduation.
