VFE Falcon Family Newsletter
April 2022
Principals' Message
Falcon Families,
We hope that your students are reacclimating well to school after Spring Break. The Blue Crew is working intentionally to re-establish connection, community, and routines as we welcome students back after the break. We are entering the time of year when students grow the most, especially our emerging readers. This effort to reestablish community in positive ways will help all of us continue to learn and grow throughout the year.
As Gertrude Wister state, "the flowers of late winter and early spring occupy places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size!" Like flowers, our students are starting to bloom- and that growth we see from now until the end of the year will be outsized in relation to the effects it will have on them, both this year and for years to come. With your incredible support, the hard work the Blue Crew has put in all Fall and Winter is coming to fruition and we cannot wait to see the growth of each Falcon this Spring!
This year has felt incredibly fast, and the spring promises to move quickly as well, but there is still much time left and much work to do. Please continue to partner with us to support your student. Make sure you are reading together every night. Help your child maintain routines that help them build responsibility and ensure they get enough rest. And, please help them arrive on time and ready to learn each day.
We are looking forward to growing together this Spring!
Adam Uhler & Wade Jerdee

Student Council's Food Drive for the Bonney Lake Food Bank
Student Council has brainstormed the following to incentivize:
Each grade will be in competition with the grade they share lunch/recess with.
-The grade level that brings in the most CANs will win an icecream and fidget toy for EVERY student in the grade level (in each grade level competition).
-In addition to rewarding half the school, we would like to set a goal that if your grade level competition brings in a goal of 500 total CANs, they will be treated to a CANdy or cookies- TBD.
-Finally if our SCHOOL total exceeds 2,000 CANs then Student Council will think of something creative for Mr. Uhler and Mr. Jerdee to do. Student Council has some pretty creative thinkers, so this could be fun to watch!
Please also consider signing up for Team 28, you are welcome to share this with your families in your newsletters as well. $28 is what it takes to serve anyone that walks into The Market.
