This is a free event, although students will be encouraged to purchase their own train tickets. If you would like to receive a phone call from your child, we are happy to assist them in practising their telephone skills. Please provide the number you will be available on at this time.

A permission form for your son/daughter will be sent home requiring your signature. Their school Principal will countersign this document to acknowledge their attendance.

What are the benefits? Information for Parents and Principals...

Students crave a sense of belonging, so this excursion will present an opportunity for them to realise they are not alone in dealing with the challenges of vision loss.

This excursion is also designed to provide students with an opportunity to practice essential skills in a supported environment, including:

  • Orientation & Mobility
  • Social skills
  • Purchasing a train ticket
  • Embarking and disembarking safely from a train
  • Skills of Daily Living such as food preparation, making a purchase, use of a telephone
  • Turn-taking and appropriate participation in structured games and activities


If your child has any food allergies or Medical conditions of which we need to be aware, please make these known to us.
