Instructional Expectations for Excellence - Lesson Objective (LO)
The above pictures are evidence that excellence in teaching is taking place across the campus!
Each week, I will provide reminders regarding basic instructional expectations that we have on our campus. This week, I am reminding all Guzick Giant educators of the Lesson Objective expectation. Please ensure you are meeting the following expectations EVERY DAY.
- The Lesson Objective should be posted for the current lesson every day.
- The Lesson Objective should be legible and large enough for any student to see from any location in the room. (I suggest sitting at the furthest point in your classroom from the location of your posted LO. If you can see it, the student should as well).
- Post the standard that the LO is connected to. (You do not have to write out the entire standard, just the number/letter will suffice).
Walkthrough Wednesday - Competition Alert
All teachers who participate in Walkthrough Wednesday this week will be entered into a drawing to win a free lunch of your choice!
Please take a selfie with your observed teacher and text the picture to me with the hashtag #GuzickWTW #ExcellenceInTeaching.
Happy Learning!!!

1st Student Club Day - Friday, October 5, 2018
Student Clubs were an absolute hit with our students last year! They were excited about the social experience. Not to mention, our teachers last year made the club experience SUPERB!
There have been a lot of changes with systems this year. We have had to learn new things and do a whole lot of troubleshooting. Taking all of that into consideration, our first Student Club Day will take place on Friday, October 5, 2018. I will be sending out a Sponsor Club sign-up google sheet this week.
Reminder: PBIS- 4th Minor Infraction/Office Referral
For students who are consistently not exhibiting H.E.A.R.T. by not following our Guzick Expectations, it is important that we are consistent with both rewards and consequences.
If a student receives three minor infractions, please complete that form, and then on the fourth infraction, complete the office referral form. We have both forms (front/back) in the front office if you need copies.
If the fourth infraction warrants an immediate administrative consequence, please call the front office for an administrator to retrieve the student. Otherwise, turn in the completed form to Mrs. Paz's black tray outside of her office and one of us will retrieve the student as soon as possible and provide the administrative consequence.
Consistency is the key to this process! Consistency across the campus! Although we provide consequences, everything is a learning process and we ALWAYS discipline with DIGNITY! We want our students to be better people as a result of our expectations for them.
