DartmouthX Update

September 19, 2014

This online newsletter is one of a series of bi-weekly updates to keep you informed about what's going on with the DartmouthX project. The newsletter is produced by the project management team - we hope you find it helpful! More information about DartmouthX is on the DartmouthX website.

ENVS Course is Open for Business!

The Intro to Environmental Science course is now open for registration! Check out the course's video trailer.

The course team's goal was to publish the edX "About" page for this course in mid-September, 4-6 months prior to course launch in February, 2015. Kudos to the team for a job well-done!

Follow-on marketing efforts to raise awareness and encourage course enrollment will continue from now until launch, such as the Dartmouth Now story about this course.

October 9: Anant Agarwal, CEO of edX Reinventing Education

Anant Agarwal, the CEO of edX, will be at Dartmouth on October 9 to talk about how the edX platform is helping to reinvent education. Please join us at 4:30 in the Oopik Auditorium, Class of 1978 Life Sciences Center, for a public talk and Q&A.
Reception to follow.

Don't forget to mark your calendars for this special event!

Other DartmouthX News

As you may know, the DartmouthX course teams have created a Tumblr blog called "Making DartmouthX." The purpose of the blog is to document our processes; to share what we learn, as we learn it; to start a dialogue with other MOOC-makers; and to communicate our enthusiasm about these projects.

All DartmouthX course team members are able to post to the blog - visit it to read about what's been going on.
