Eli Whitney's first invention

In 1794 patented the cotton, a machine that revolutionized the production of cotton by greatly speeding up the process of removing seeds from cotton fiber. This made the influence in slavery even more because the slaves could get more done.

Whitney was a Yankee from New England. Invented it on a trip to the South. Raw cotton was cheap. First factories were cotton textile mills. 1800, he created interchangeable parts.

Allowed him to manufacture guns by machine which were made in Gun factories.
