Middle School Partners Program
SAISD
Middle School Partners is for Everyone at Irving!!!
Visit to UTSA! Go Runners!! Birds UP!!
As part of our High School Readiness preparation all our MSP students along with Algebra students participated in an exciting field trip to the University of Texas San Antonio. While on the visit the students were able to visit different buildings and go into an auditorium style classroom which the students couldn't believe that was the style of classroom classes were held in!! The students participated in various activities. One of the students favorite activities was interviewing college students about their classes, social life and living on campus. The students also had an opportunity to take part in some student group activities that had demonstrations for them. Overall the trip was a success!

ReConnecting with MSP STUDENTS
As part of the MSP program we try to keep in touch with our former MSP students to see how they are doing in their transition to High School. The students in the above images are former students that now attend Lanier High School and Jefferson High School and are in 9th and 10th grade. The students loved meeting the current students and shared some advice, "Do your best! You'll see the benefits when you get here!" Hearing those words were moving, and meant a great deal to me as their former teacher. We hope all our current and former students understand the benefits that Middle School Partners builds on.
Child Safe Project
As part of building our connection with our reality in an urban environment and understanding the need for community service and activism the students in MSP class created CardBoard kids for Child Safe, a program geared to stopping and preventing child abuse. The students loved having this down time with a purpose. Their "kids" will be on display starting April 5 in front of our campus. Thank you to Ms. Campos our CISSA for this great experience. The students loved it!

Spanish AP Test is coming UP!!
Students above like Libny, Casandra and Lorena enjoying a cool drink on their visit to UTSA. These girls along with other students are working hard to complete their Spanish AP Classes on Edgenuity so they can be ready for May 8th test administration! We are excited to be the first in MSP to pilot this academic adventure! The students will be going through a series of mini prep sessions on campus to help answer their test questions and to prepare them for the exam. Wish us luck!!
All MSP students are our Students of the MONTH!
Our mission in class is to be the best we can be! How can we do better? How can we develop skills that will help us in the classroom and help us in our personal lives? I ask our students to do their best everyday. Our students have learned to understand my expectations of themselves and of each other. We take pride in our classroom, we make our classroom safe for each other, we welcome new students and we take pride in knowing that awesome student. Through partnerships with our admin team, our CISSA Ms. Campos and our core teachers our students are developing a responsible attitude about their education, attendance their community.
