A religion is an organized system of beliefs, ceremonies, and rules used to worship a god or group of gods. There are many different religions practiced around the world. There are 5 major religions that are practiced the most. They are Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism,and Islam.
Christianity
Christianity is one of the five most common practiced religions in the world. Christianity derived from Judaism in the 1st century. Christians believe in the teachings and person Jesus of Nazareth. The holy book that Christians use is the Bible. Christians go to church every Sunday. Christians are monotheistic. The major holidays include Lent, Easter, Christmas, Palm Sunday, Good Friday, Pentecost, and Advent.

Judaism
Judaism is one of the five most practiced religions in the world. Judaism dates back to the 18th century BC. Judaism is monotheistic. Jews believe in God. Their holy book is the Torah. Major Jewish holidays include Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashanah, Sukkot, Simchat Torah, Hanukkah and Passover. The name of their God is Tetragrammaton.
