A Message From Mr. Mueller

I hope that everyone has been having a fun and relaxing summer! I am excited for the next school year to begin. We have had a lot going on at the Middle School since school ended in May. A large portion of our roof has been replaced/repaired, our gymnasium floor has been refinished and looks outstanding, and portions of the parking lot have been resurfaced. Our custodians have been working extremely hard to prepare the buildings for students to return next month. Teachers have also been in the building preparing their classrooms and developing lesson plans for next year.

With about a month left until the beginning of the school year, please be sure to check out all of the information in this newsletter. I hope you find the information helpful as you and your children prepare for school to start up. I will also be sending out information through School Messenger over the next few weeks. On-Line Registration and Registration Day

Around 61% of Middle School students are already registered for the 2021-22 school year. We appreciate everyone that has completed registration for their students. If you have not yet completed Online Registration for your child, please do so as soon as possible.

To start, log in to Infinite Campus. (If you need login information, contact our technology department, 573.486.3121 ext. 1314.)

  • Once you click on the campus portal link on the district homepage, you will choose "campus parent" and then enter your username and password.
  • Once you get into the parent portal, choose "more" and then toward the bottom of the list you will find "online registration."
  • It will be helpful to have current contact information for any of your child's emergency contacts as well as current medical diagnoses and medications.

We will have a laptop available in the office if you need internet access or would prefer a device to your phone. You must complete online registration for your student to be scheduled for classes! We will have a registration day on August 9, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students will be able to pick up letters from their homeroom teacher on that day. 7th and 8th grade students will be allowed to choose their locker if their registration has been completed and approved by that date.

You can take care of several items online that have traditionally been done on Registration Day or at Open House, including Handbook agreements, Chromebook agreements, and Chromebook insurance. The Chromebook agreement and insurance fee are required for students in grade 4-12. You can also make any food service payments online.

Required fees for each middle school student include the Chromebook insurance fee ($10) and a fee for a student planner ($5). There are a variety of purchases you may want to take care of all at one time, however. Please see the list below. Again, some of these may be paid on Infinite Campus with Online Pay, or with cash or check at school on Registration Day or Open House.

  • Planner: $5 per student
  • Chromebook Insurance: $10 per student
  • Yearbook: $20 per book
  • Athletic Fee (7th and 8th-grade school sports only): $25 per student
  • Food Service: You choose the amount

The Summer Food Service Program has been extended through the 2021-2022 school year. Breakfast and lunch meals for all students will be free of charge.

Open House

Open House for Middle School students will take place on August 19, 2021 from 4:30-7:00 P.M.

Times will be staggered in an effort to reduce the number of individuals in the building at one time. Below is the schedule for all buildings organized by last name.

  • Elementary: A-H (4:30 - 5:15); I-Q (5:20 - 6:05); R-Z (6:10 - 7:00)
  • Middle School: I-Q (4:30 - 5:15); R-Z (5:20 - 6:05); A-H (6:10 - 7:00)
  • High School: R-Z (4:30 - 5:15); A-H (5:20 - 6:05); I-Q (6:10 - 7:00)

There will also be an athletic meeting for parents and athletes beginning at 5:30 pm in the Middle School Cafeteria with our Athletic Director, Mr. Anderson.

School Supplies

School supply lists have been sent to the following businesses:

  • Wal-Mart in Owensville, Warrenton, and Washington
  • Target in Washington
  • Dollar General in Hermann

Hermann Middle School Handbook

Please see the attached Middle School Student Handbook for information on our policies and procedures. The handbook discusses important dates, specific guidelines, academic information, behavior expectations, and much more.
