Flipgrid Assignment
Think about the best book you have read to your students preparing for the holiday. Take a quick video (no more than 1 minute 30 seconds) to tell others about this book and how you would use it with students.

- The judge this year will be Katheryn Pringle. Kathryn l. Pringle is the author of Temper & Felicity are Lovers (forthcGO oming 2014), fault tree (Omnidawn, 2011), RIGHT NEW BIOLOGY (Factory School, 2009), The Stills (Duration Press, 2006) and a new book, Obscenity for the Advancement of Poetry, (Ommnidawn, 2017).

- This year, there will be an entry fee of $25 per school to cover the cost of the Chapbook. Contact Jenn if you need an invoice.
- More details to follow with related events.
- Please email Jenn Worrells at worrelj@gcsnc.com to confirm your school plans to participate this year.
ARC Update
3rd Grade ARC “Bugs” Research Lab
- The 3rd Grade ARC Bugs Research Lab materials will begin arriving to schools the second week of December through the first week of January. Please be sure to count all boxes prior to signing for delivery. This is important to ensure intended materials were received at every school and to track missing items, if necessary. Please open the 3rd Grade “Bugs” Slick to view the materials in the lab. Contact Megan Rives with questions.
Middle School Custom Assessment Packs from ARC
- Middle schools will be receiving assessment packs from ARC that can be used to assess grade level standards. Click the Informational Text Assessment Packs link to see the what each grade level will receive. Every ELA teacher will receive a class set of 40 packs. The packs are not consumable and can be used at each teacher’s discretion. As with all material deliveries, be sure to count all boxes prior to signing for delivery. Please contact Kathy Saunders or India Smith with questions.
- At this point the intent is to bar-code them prior to distribution. However, at this point they have not shipped and we do not have a sample. We have requested shipment information and samples to us determine next steps with bar-codes. Once this has been determined I will be sharing information regarding the cataloging and bar-code distribution.
