Learning Walks
There is power in learning together!
“Learning walks bring school leaders and teachers together to observe and discuss classroom instruction in a strategic and collaborative manner....This results in a set of findings based on evidence – findings that guide the school in developing a vision for instructional practices whereby they identify needs for their own professional development.” -SchoolWorks Associates
Over the next several weeks, administrators will be conducting learning walks as a team and with content specialists to get a snapshot of instruction across our building. We are learning together so we can serve as better coaches, offer relevant professional development, and identify strengths in teaching practices that will help our students and ourselves grow.
Each walk will have a focus and you will receive feedback on what was observed. When we walk in, please keep teaching.
Later in the semester, we will restart our vertical alignment walks so you too can get a glimpse of learning structures around our building.
Watch the video below to see how one school uses learning walks so you have a model of what we will be doing at Hearne. We are always looking for ways to improve first line instruction for our students.
Never forget:
You are making a difference!
You matter!
Your students need you!

Husky Interview Committee
If you would like to serve on the Hearne interview committee, please let an administrator know by Friday, February 28th. We are looking for 4-8 current Huskies to help us lead the charge. Everyone is welcome to serve on the committee.
This is a special opportunity for you to help us recruit the best of the best for our campus.
Once on the committee, you will help us revisit the characteristics of an ideal Husky, become trained on the interview process, assist with interviews for open positions, attend recruitment events for our campus, and help us make the best selection of our New Huskies!
Reminders for all staff--
- All staff should be at work on time every day.
- Welcome students at your doorways at 7:40 AM daily.
- Plan ahead to ensure you arrive to campus before your scheduled duty begins.
- The expectation is for all staff to use it daily to sign in and sign out.
- If the Raptor system is down, we will do a manual sign in sheet where you will record your time in and out.
- You cannot Raptor in and be at your assigned duty at the same time. Campus safety is everyone's responsibility. It takes the effort from all players for our team to succeed.
Please log in and sign your observations in STRIVE this week....including pre-conferences, observations, and post conferences!
