Making a difference today to create a better tomorrow.
March 19-23, 2018
I BELIEVE You Matter!!
I Believe in Being a Top 20
What kind of seed is in you? As Jim Cathcart states, we ARE part of a continuing chain that carries a legacy and a responsibility. Nurture your nature. Prove to yourself and those around you that You Matter. Combine You Matter with the other Top 20 facets of believing in relationships, believing in helping others be successful, believing in living above the line, believing in keeping our day, believing in seeing the problem, owning the problem and believing in honoring the absent. Model Top 20 in every step of every day. Cultivate the seeds- our children- until they are ready to grow. I believe in you. I believe in us.
To our elementary family, for being the name inspiration for the Cold Spring/Richmond Police Department's newest Canine, Cash, and for politely welcoming Jason, Ruben, and Cash into our classrooms for a get to know you session, thank you! Thank you for making a difference today to create a better tomorrow!

Reading is Our Super Power!
This week we continue to focus on our World's Best Workforce reading goals. The 2 Sisters, authors of Daily Cafe, feel that finding a 'Good Fit Book' is the best way to engage students in reading at just their level (The Good-Fit Books process is linked here.) Frequently touch base with children about what they are reading- is the book a good fit in both level and interest? In the era of 21st Century Skills, peruse some of the websites below to add interest to your child's reading. The list includes authors who Skype for free-- doing a bit of research before helping children pick a Good-Fit Book will end with an author's visit via Skype!
PLEASE NOTE:
Please check with the author via email to be sure he or she still offers free Skype chats before you purchase books or make plans. (Some authors offer only a limited number of free Skype visits, and some who start out offering free visits begin to charge later on.) Happy Skyping!!
Authors who Skype Free!!
