MESSAGE FROM MRS. MOTZNY
We appreciate your support as we continued some of our "Covid Protocols" this first semester. When the students return in January we will return to students sitting in each seat at the cafeteria tables. We will also continue our mask zones in the cafeteria. With this change in seating, we will be able to start allowing a few lunch visitors each week. We are going to limit the number of lunch guests that may come each week. Beginning Monday, January 10th students with the last name(s) beginning with A, B, C, D, E, and F may have a parent or guardian join them for lunch. The students may have a guest any time during the week of January 10th. We will only allow guests for this group of students so that we can limit the number of guests in the cafeteria. The next week of school (Jan. 18th-21st) we will allow students with the last name(s) beginning with G, H, I, J, K, and L to eat lunch with a parent or guardian. Please review the following information that comes from our "Quick Reference Guide for Parents."
Parents, legal guardians, and relatives (with a note from the parent) may come to have lunch with a student. Only that student will be allowed to eat at the parent table with their guest. Groups of students (teams, clubs, etc.) will not be allowed to gather together at the parent table during lunch. While parents may not bring food for other children, they may provide food or beverages for their own child's consumption. Many parents treat their children to special lunches from outside restaurants occasionally. While we encourage you to reward your children with these special celebrations, we ask that if you are bringing your child lunch that you arrive on time. To protect instructional time, any student waiting on a parent ten minutes after lunch has begun will be sent through the cafeteria line. The front office will not deliver lunches to students. Students can stop by the cart in the vestibule on the way to the cafeteria to pick up a forgotten lunch. Relatives that are not the parent or guardian will need to bring the parent note and their driver's license with them on the day that they are visiting for lunch. Cy-Fair ISD students are not permitted to come as lunch guests. Due to the limited seating in the cafeteria for guests, we ask that each student have no more than 2 lunch guests.
Parents can access the lunch visitor schedule for the remainder of the school year by clicking on the button below.
Sincerely,
Heather Motzny

Nature Trails
NATURE TRAILS MAKE UP DAY
Great news! We will make up our Nature Trails Day 2 (postponed due to weather) on Monday, December 13th. Students will bring home a new permission form for the new date. Remember, students will:
- leave Sampson around 9am and return around 2pm
- wear long pants (not leggings), socks, and closed-toe shoes for safety. In addition, keep the weather conditions in mind. Your child may need layers that can be added/removed for comfort.
- bring a lunch in a container to keep insects out or purchase a box lunch from the cafeteria. Water bottles are recommended.
We look forward to a great day at the Trails!

Thank you to the so many Sampson families who participated in the Jingle Bell Jog. We loved having you! Huge thank you to Coach French for all of her hard work, HEB, Dad's Club, and Splash Print. What a great morning of activity, community, and family!
We had some fun times this past week. The Cy Woods Girls Basketball team came to Sampson to read with our kindergarteners. How cool! We would love to support the basketball team for a game in the future.
We had our 5th grade December book club this week and had lots of fun and lots of laughs. The next book will be The Terrible Two by Mac Barnett. We will meet on January 20.

Clinic
Nurse Alms needs all the help that we can give her! Miss Mary, her clinic aide, is retiring at the end of December. So beginning January 4th, we will need volunteers for DAILY assistance in the clinic until the district hires a replacement aide. We have a morning shift (9:00 AM-12:00 PM) and an afternoon shift (12:00-3:00PM). Please don’t worry if you cannot stay for the entire 3 hour shift. We are grateful to get any support in the clinic that we can! So go ahead and signup here even if you have an hour to offer and just let Nurse Alms know when you arrive for your shift. ANY help is GREAT help! Also, some days the clinic is very busy, some days it is vey slow. Bring a book or computed/tablet if you would like for the slower days. Again, we appreciate your support. It takes a village and Sampson has an amazing village that keeps this train CHUGGING along! THANK YOU!
THE CLINIC NEEDS SOCK DONATIONS!
Our kiddos get muddy, have spills, etc. and the clinic relies on us to stay stocked with items to keep our kids comfortable throughout their school day. ALL SIZES - Please send your sock donations with your child or bring them directly to the clinic! THANK YOU!
