Where is Alyson this week?

My Schedule for this week is below. I will be out in meetings or training much of this week. Since I will miss being in the schools on the regular days, I'd love to fill both Monday and Friday with appointments with you!

  • Monday- Open for Appointments
  • Tuesday- ACCRS Quarterly Meeting (Cullman)
  • Wednesday- Central Office / ACS Instructional Retreat
  • Thursday- Central Office / ACS Instructional Retreat
  • Friday- Open for Appointments

❤️ Cool Tech Tool of the Week ❤️

Padlet is a virtual "blank wall" that allows students to express their thoughts on a common topic quickly and easily. Students can add text and other content such as images, videos, drawings, and documents. Padlet notes (like virtual sticky notes) may be added anywhere on the wall using any device.

Padlet can be used in all subject areas, and student collaboration is easy with this tool. Some ways you might integrate Padlet:

  • Replacing the Traditional Poster Project
  • Sharing Ideas, Videos, Links, & Documents
  • Answering Entrance or Exit Questions for Formative Assessment
  • Sharing Knowledge in a Content Area

Many additional ideas for using Padlet in elementary school can be found in the documents below!

❤️ Athens City Elementary Tech Integration ❤️

Technology integration can be seen in action across all Athens City Schools. The theme this week seemed to be "TRY SOMETHING NEW!"

3rd graders at JNES Try Plickers!

These students in Mrs. Collins's class were Plickers experts in just a couple of minutes! I still have a few sets of Plickers cards left if you'd like a demo and free set of cards for your class! An overview of this tool was shared in last week's news. Here is a link in case you missed it:

Trying Something New = Great Rewards!

Students in Mrs. Owens's class at BES found a new way this week to showcase their learning. By adding written and video commentary to Book Reviews, these students utilized ThingLink to POWER UP and share their learning!
