September 6, 2022

September 6, 2022
We're back! Is your student's registration complete?
Have you completed your student's registration forms? All forms, documents and resources that families need can be found here or you can also access all the needed forms on Campus Portal!
The deadline to have all forms completed is September 30.
Accessing Campus Portal
Have you accessed your student's account on Campus Portal through Infinite Campus? This is where you can see your student’s classes, schedules, grades, and report cards all in one place! You can even enter all the needed registration information with the click of a few buttons. Click HERE for step-by-step instructions on how to access your account!
Uniform Voucher Waitlist
All requests for general uniform vouchers (for any student who is not homeless), will be added to a waitlist. City Schools has reached capacity for general uniform vouchers and families must now request to be added to the waitlist through the student's school. Requests can be submitted until September 30, but please note that by joining this waitlist, it is not guaranteed that the student/family will receive a uniform voucher. Check with your school's administrative office to submit a uniform voucher request.
Only students that are officially documented as homeless may be eligible for a voucher with the Home and Hospital office. Call 410-396-0775 for more information.

This art, essay, poetry, and spoken word contest is for Baltimore City Public Schools students in kindergarten through 8th grade. The contest deadline is October 3, so start planning with your student today!

This workshop will assist parents and professionals with an overview of the transition planning process and working with the IEP Team in developing a transition plan for students with disabilities ages 14 and up.
September 22 and 23
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Food for Thought Exhibit
The Baltimore Museum of Industry will open Food For Thought, an exhibition highlighting local unsung heroes of the pandemic: Food and Nutrition Service workers. These workers kept communities fed while schools were closed and learning transitioned to virtual in 2020-2021. District Food and Nutrition staff prepare and distribute more than 88,000 meals every day and served more than 11 million meals in the 2021-22 school year. Many families rely on these meals to supplement what can be provided at home.
The exhibition opened on September 6 in the lobby of City Schools headquarters at 200 E. North Avenue. The lobby is available to the public during normal business hours, and there is no charge for admission. The exhibition will close in June 2023.
Your Voice Matters!
Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University and University of Maryland are joining forces to better understand how parents, school staff members, and students feel about COVID-19 prevention measures in their schools. What has helped make you or your child feel safe this year? What prevention measures could be improved to work better next year? What about testing?
You may be eligible to participate in a 1-hour virtual focus group if you are:
· A parent or guardian of a student in grades K-12 in City Schools
· A teacher or school staff member in City Schools
· A student in grades 5-12 in City Schools
Participants will receive $50 for their time and participation. Interested in hearing more? Click the button below to provide your contact information and learn more.
