Kindness Assembly next week!!
Hello Everyone,
I am super excited to announce that our school is going to be taking part in a National Kindness School Tour put on by Think Kindness, a non-profit dedicated to inspire kindness in schools across the country. One of their amazing speakers will by flying in and speaking to our entire student body. Plus, they will be giving us a massive kindness challenge.
Rather than bore you with a long-winded email – WATCH THIS VIDEO for more details.
This is going to be epic!
With Kindness,
Melissa Morelli on behalf of FOPPTA
Trauma Training for Classified Staff Who Work with Students:
I am writing to share a unique opportunity for a professional development event on student trauma, designed specifically for your classified staff who work/interact with students. We are using the remainder of our Fire Relief Fund to host this event, Serving Students with Trauma, on Oct. 8 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
This event is free, and participants receive a $50 gift card for their attendance.
The workshop is designed specifically for school nurses, bus drivers, campus supervisors, student advisors, food service staff, classroom aides, bilingual liaisons, front office staff, and school resource officers, among others. These are the educators who often work most directly with students, but trainings around trauma and resilience aren't always designed with them in mind.
Please share this opportunity with any classified employees who may be interested. Registration is limited to 100 seats. Register here.
Sincerely,
Steven D. Herrington, Ph.D.
