Evaluating Strategies that Move Technology Integration from Theory to Practice

Online Course: This course is an ONLINE technology workshop conducted through the Staff Learning Hub. Using technology to engage students in active learning in the classroom requires a fundamental shift in the way teachers plan for and execute lessons. In this 3 hour online workshop, we will explore planning processes targeting student learning behaviors, backward planning techniques and evaluating the levels of the SAMR Model to effectively impact teaching and learning. We will guide participants in the design, development, and integration of digital learning experiences that utilize technology to transform student outcomes. We will focus on learning that occurs as teachers climb up the SAMR ladder in lesson development, leading to successful lesson design and desired student behaviors. By incorporating these techniques teachers can make appropriate planning and instructional shifts to help students develop important 21st Century Skills at each level.
