News for You:
- Water Bottles: Please continue to send your child to school with a water bottle. The school will supply your student with water, but please try and encourage your child to bring their water bottle to help us conserve the number of water bottles distributed each day. Thank you!
- Cold Weather: Cold weather is coming! Please have your child properly dressed for outside recess!
- Individual Reading Improvement Plans: Students who qualify for an IRIP will be mailed home in early October. The IRIP will describe the plan for your child to help them with their reading deficiencies.
- Doors open at 8:20, and Dismissal is at 3:10
- Drop-off Lane: Parents/Guardians! Please don't leave your vehicle in the drop-off lane, and please pull forward to allow other vehicles to enter. This WILL help the flow of traffic.
- Kindergarten Pick-up: Parents, we are going to try a new pick-up system to ensure the safety of our young students. All kindergarten students who get picked up will now have a clothespin with their name on it clipped to their shirt. We are asking for the parents/guardians to take the clip off and give it back to their child's teacher. This will help the teacher keep track of the student who was picked up. Thanks!
- Parents are strongly encouraged not to contact the office after 2:30 PM to have their child picked up unless of an emergency. The office is busy after 2:30, and it may be challenging to accommodate parents' requests.
- Visitors: Visitors will not be allowed to enter the building this year.
- Please be sure to contact the office and get the proper paperwork for any Medication disbursement or food modification forms for the kitchen. Medication can not be given without paperwork from the school signed by the physician. This includes Epi-pens and inhalers as well as prescribed and non-prescribed medication. The kitchen cannot accommodate any food modifications without the form from the school filled out by a physician as well.
- PTO: The PTO (parent-teacher organization) is looking for new parent recruits who want to be a part of a great group to enhance the school experience for all students! Please get in touch with Mr. Katona if you're interested in joining! Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, October 5, at 6:30 PM in the Elementary Library. The doors on Maple Street will be open at 6:15 PM.
- If you are a remote learner and would like school pictures, please contact the Elementary office at 231-824-6413 opt. 4.
- PTO Popcorn Fridays: The PTO created popcorn Fridays at Manton Elementary. On the last Friday of the month, the PTO will be delivering popcorn to each classroom. Accommodations will be made for allergy reasons. We are also looking for Popcorn sponsors. If someone wants to sponsor a popcorn Friday, please contact Mr. Katona in the elementary office. Thank you!
- Open-toe sandals are not allowed in the elementary. Would you please continue to monitor this and send your child with proper footwear (especially on Gym days)?
- Birthday Treats: We strongly encourage pre-packaged birthday treats again this year. Thank you!
