5th Grade Writing Test FYI

The writing test is less than 50 days away! You can help ensure your students are ready to master the test by sharing the online Parent, Student, Teacher Guide with your 5th grade teachers. The practice test reflects the format students will encounter on the actual test. Students will read 2 passages along with a writing prompt. Included in the guide are planning pages and response pages for practice, too. You will be able to pick up your PTSGs and Testing Binder toward the end of January-- we will let you know!

Mark your calendar to attend one of the Writing Test trainings on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 9:00am OR at 2:00pm the Enrollment Center. We will hold these trainings in the former Gym, across from the assessment rooms. You will be able to pick up your writing tests following the training on 2/16.

Make plans to train staff members who will be administering the Writing Test. Use the training PowerPoint, SDE Test Prep Manual, and sign in sheets from PD360 to keep track of the Test Administrators and Proctors which you have trained.

If you have any questions, please contact Erin.

<FYI> Identifying OAAP Testers on PowerSchool and EdPlan

Thank you for sending in your rosters and lists of students who will be testing on DLM. As part of our goal to be in 100% compliance with the SDE, we are verifying that every student name submitted is identified as an OAAP tester on PowerSchool. We are finding that EdPlan isn't always up to date, IEPs haven't been updated for new students, or information is just missing. In order to see who your school's identified OAAP testers are on PowerSchool, you can use this search command on the PowerSchool Admin screen: TPS_SEAS_State_Test_Code=256

You can look up this information and verify the list with your Special Education Teachers to ensure our records on students are up to date. This will also make it easier on us for the OCCT grades 3-8 precode at the end of the month.

Let Erin know if you have any questions on how to run this query on PowerSchool! Thank you!

Non-Standard Accommodations <Deadline 1/18>

Non-Standard Accommodation requests are due to the Office of Accountability, Assessment with all required documentation by Tuesday, January 18 at 4:00pm. Submissions will be reviewed by Assessment and Special Education prior to the OSDE submission deadline.

If you have questions regarding the qualifying criteria and required documentation for this accommodation, please contact Erin Lester or Kay Sandschaper.
