FBISD Relaunch
I know that over the Labor Day weekend, families in FBISD are having to make a difficult decision about the transition back to face-2-face instructions or remain with online learning. Each family dynamic is unique and different. I know each family will do what best for their family. Parents must log into Skyward to select the learning model for their students. This will provide important data for the district in the next few weeks to plan and structure the campus master schedule and courses. The last date to make a selection is September 8. For more information about FBISD Relaunch and instructions to make the selection for the learning model go to https://www.fortbendisd.com/relaunch

Leadership Opportunity
My name is Mariane Mousa, and I graduated from Dulles High School in 2019. I am currently a sophomore at Stanford University, and I am recruiting for my nonprofit organization: 100words.
100words is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working to break the cycle of poverty through fundraisers and donations. High school and university students work to raise money for children in impoverished countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa, Nepal, and more. At 100words, we provide our high school and university members with grants and guidance to successfully host a fundraiser.
Your students will gain service-leadership experience, access to a community of innovators, and the opportunity to give back to those in need. Due to COVID-19, 100words' work is now more important than ever, as children in the most neglected corners of the world are now fighting poverty amidst a pandemic. Please help us by sharing the attached poster with your students. They can find the application on the flyer and also here.
Thank you for your help to spread the word about my nonprofit.
Best,
Mariane Mousa

Archive Historical Documents
Fans of history may be interested in becoming citizen archivists for a non-profit organization such as the National Archives in Washington, D.C. Would you enjoy transcribing speeches made by Franklin Roosevelt, case histories made by the Tennessee Valley Authority during the Great Depression, or cataloguing Purple Hearts awarded between 1942-1963? All of these tasks are awaiting the help of virtual volunteers right now. The Smithsonian also engages citizen scholars in tasks such as transcribing diaries of prominent Americans or joining the Wikipedia Volunteer Program’s efforts to strengthen the website’s offerings on Smithsonian-relevant content.
Before signing up for these opportunities make sure you get your parent permission.
Tutor Students Online
Teensgive.org allows individuals in 9th-12th grade a bevy of opportunities to tutor peers online. The application process has a fast turnaround time, and you can be helping a child in need within a week of submission. Schoolonwheels.org allows students aged 16-18 to provide tutoring services to peers through virtual means. Those aged 12-15 can also volunteer, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Learntobe.org is another option for connecting tutors and in-need students on a virtual platform. Before signing up for these opportunities make sure you get your parent permission
Color A Smile Virtual Volunteering Opportunity
Organization: Color a smile, a Non-profit organization, 501 (C) (3). Founded in 1986.
Students take printouts from the website, color them and mail it to Color A Smile foundation. Before mailing, Mr. Lam needs to approve the hours based on the coloring sheets worked by the students and track it for MSA. The below link explains steps required for tracking volunteer credits.
