Florence Family Update

February 9, 2018

Quick Notes

The flu has hit the front office staff. Hopefully we will be back in full swing on Monday. Please be sure and wipe down your houses. The doctor I saw said she hasn't seen anything except the flu for 8 weeks now!

You may have heard some conversations about KISD participating in an alternate 4th grade writing assessment in lieu of 4th grade STAAR writing. In light of recent information from TEA, we WILL be taking the 4th grade Writing Assessment as originally planned.

Jump Rope for Heart from Mrs. Castronova

Dear Students & Families,

As you know we are celebrating heart health with the American Heart Association during the month of February. Our students are participating in Jump Rope for Heart in PE and learning valuable information on nutrition, exercise, and functions of the heart. This year we are encouraging our students and families to take a personal heart healthy challenge! Some of these include: drinking water instead of sugary drinks, eating more fruits and vegetables, eating less salt, and being physically active every day. Jump Rope for Heart donations will be accepted through February 23rd. Thank you for all your participation and have a heart healthy day.

Social Emotional Learning Survey-Parent Input Please!

If you haven't had a chance, please complete the survey below. As we continue to seek input from our parents, we have created a brief 9 question survey related to Social Emotional Learning. The survey should not take more than 2-3 minutes to complete. Completing this survey will give the school vital information to help us continue to work on meeting the needs of our Falcons. Thank you in advance for your time!
