Parking Reminders:
The parking lot “Eagles’ Nest” and the backlot are for STAFF ONLY for safety reasons. Staff members who park in one of these designated lots may not move their vehicles during the day when students are outside.
PLEASE....
Please LABEL YOUR STUDENT'S WATER BOTTLE! We get lost water bottles every week. They remain in the lost and found and never find their owners!
Also, you wouldn't want your student to claim a water bottle in the lost and found that LOOKS identical but turns out to be someone else's...but the student didn't know because it wasn't labeled!
Wellness Tips from the School Nurse
As your body grows, your brain grows too. What you eat affects how your brain grows and works. So there are some brain healthy breakfast foods.
1. Eggs
The protein and nutrients in eggs help you concentrate.
2. Greek Yogurt
A full-fat Greek yogurt (which has more protein than other yogurts) can help keep brain cells in good form for sending and receiving information.
3. Greens
Kale is a super food, packed with antioxidants and other things that help new brain cells grow and prevents dementia when you're old.
4. Fish
Fish is a good source of vitamin D and omega-3s- The more omega-3s we can get to the brain, the better it will function and the better you will be able to focus.
5. Nuts and Seeds
Packed with protein, essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals, nuts and seeds may boost mood and keep your nervous system in check.
6. Oatmeal
Protein- and fiber-rich oatmeal helps keep heart and brain arteries clear.
7. Apples and Plums
Apples and plums are lunchbox-friendly and contain quercetin, an antioxidant that may fight decline in mental(brain) skills.Kathryn Dibadj, M.Ed., BSN, PEL-CSN, RN
