School Site Council Members Ballot
It will take just one minute to vote, and this is very important to ensure we have our School Site Council in place.
Positive Behavior Support
Running Club Returns
Elevo PE Program
This week’s games of the week are Clue and Empathy Tag, and the focus is social intelligence. To be socially intelligent, you need to be able to accurately identify what you or someone else is feeling, and then you need to know how to respond appropriately. Social intelligence is fundamental to forming and maintaining successful relationships, understanding expectations, being able to navigate group dynamics, and adaptability.

COVID-19 Procedures and Safety
Individuals who are sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should contact their healthcare provider and stay home. If your child or a member of your household has tested positive or is awaiting COVID-19 test results, please follow public health guidance.
If your child tests positive for COVID-19 or experiences COVID-19 symptoms, please contact the school and/or email me at erosselli@orangeusd.org. We will gather information from you and provide you with your options.
If a student tests positive, they are required to isolate. The isolation guidance requires 10 days without testing from when symptoms began or a positive test (whichever comes first). The student can return to school on day 11; however, if a student tests negative on day 5 using an FDA-approved antigen test and all symptoms have improved that student is able to return to school on day 6. If a home test was used, students will need to bring the attestation form to the office upon their return. The student must be fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.
Please refer to the OUSD Safety and Health Driven Plan and the County of Orange Health Officer’s Orders directly for more information.
The Orange Unified School District will be offering COVID-19 testing Monday through Thursday at the comprehensive high schools and the district office from 2:30 - 5:00.
See the flyer below to register for testing. You MUST register prior to arriving to test. Scan the QR code in the flyer or click here: https://apps.livingfitnation.com/covid/registration?q=ZC128mzcc9lFeeoTzoXp3w%3D%3D

Grade Level & Teacher Wish Lists
Section 5 of Article IX of the State of California Constitution guarantees students a "free public education." The State Supreme Court concluded in the 1984 case of Hartzell v. Connell, "that all educational activities carried on by public school districts, extra-curricular as well as curricula, must be without cost to the students who participate in such activities." This same ruling found that "mandatory fees for participating in such extra-curricular activities as drama, music, and athletic competition were illegal under the State Constitution." Furthermore, they also rejected the argument that "fees could be charged so long as the district waived fees for students who were financially unable to pay." Recent proposed legislation includes reimbursement with interest for any illegally-collected fees as well as a district sanction.
