A Living Nightmare

Griffin Faust Academic 4

Can you imagine what it would be like to be punished or murdered just because of your religion? During WWII, Adolf Hitler, the dictator of Germany at the time, set up concentration camps that punished and murdered Jewish families, because he thought Jews were evil. The entrance to the infamous Auschwitz-Birkenau, which operated 4 gas chambers killed about 6,000 Jews a day. At this one concentration camp an estimated 1,000,000 to 2,500,000 Jews were killed. Most people believe that the Holocaust was by far the most terrifying part of WWII.

Countless Jewish kids, moms, and dads were killed during this tragic event and nothing was done about it! a terrifying 6,000 Jews were killed a day! Then this would mean 42,000 Jews were killed a week! A row of chimneys top the crematorium, where bodies were burned. Also, imprisoned Jews were forced to work, and were cruelly abused. Those who weren't forced to work were put to death. Most people would think of 2,500,000 as a big number! the only thing that will change you mind is the fact that there were 71 concentration camps in all, and only one of them killed 2,500,000 Jews. What do you think now? If I did the math correctly, about 177,500,000 Jews were killed during the Holocaust! All this misery was somehow caused by one person!

We all know what unfortunate things happened during WWII, but nothing is worse than what happened during the Holocaust. About 6,000 people were killed a day at one concentration camp, and there were rows of chimneys that were used to cremate bodies. Jews were severely punished and even sent to their deaths. 1,000,000 to 2,500,000 Jews were killed at the Auschwitz concentration camp. One camp killed about 2,500,000 Jews, but think about 71 camps! Overall, I believe that the Holocaust was a very, very unfortunate event that I hope never happens again.
