AUGUST WAS AMAZING!

On August 10, 2019, we officially opened our replacement facility at 12420 Veterans Memorial. We'd like to thank all scholars, parents, community members, SISD staff member, our esteem cabinet and board members, and our Superintendent Dr. Rodney Watson. We'd like to extend a special thanks to all that supported the efforts with the approval of the bond which has given our scholars a state-of-the-art facility to collaborate and learn. The facility is nothing short of RMS REMARKABLE!

Moreover, we give thanks to those that organized, prepared, facilitated, and participated in our ribbon cutting ceremony. It was a memorable event graced with presence of additional very important representatives such as Dr. Edward Roberson's namesake, Mr. Edward Roberson and family, the office of Precinct One Harris County Commissioner, Rodney Ellis, and U.S. Congresswoman, Shelia Jackson Lee. We are forever grateful. Please check out a few of

20/20 VISION DRESS FOR SUCCESS AT RMS INITIATIVE: READ MORE...

WE ARE CALLING ALL TO JOIN US!

As apart of our RMS 20/20 Vision:SOAR theme this year, we will embrace our new building with a new mission! We will start next Wednesday, September 11, 2019, embracing a Winning Wednesday attitude in which all teachers and scholars are encouraged to come professionally dressed to impress!

We want to make sure we set our RMS scholars up for real/real-world experiences after leaving RMS, and by incorporating this Dress for Success initiative, we believe we will model how professional dress in mind and body is the first stage to success. We are excited to announce that we have several of our RMS leaders that are apart of very important organizations and have started to take charge of partnerships to support this mission. They will be organizing an effort of donations for blazers, jackets, and accessories for our scholars who may have a need. If you have inquires on how to support, please contact Mr. Miller, our Special Programs Coordinator @ lmille1@springisd.org. for specifications and details. We are RMS Remarkable Razorbacks, and we win as a team. We are certain we will make our 20/20 Vision Dress for Success Winning Wednesday not only remarkable for RMS-- but our entire Spring ISD community! Please encourage all to join in.

REMARKABLE DATES TO REMEMBER

CHILD NUTRITION

Parents and guardians may complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application online via www.schoolcafe.com. Paper applications are also available. All application information is kept confidential. If you have not already done so, I urge all parents to submit an application. All families must submit one each year in order to be eligible.

Moreover, we appreciate your cooperation with our "no-outside food" policy. We hope that you understand the safety concerns that we aim to address with this policy. Keeping all students safe at RMS is first and foremost. Should you wish to bring lunch for your child, you are able to do so if and only if you accompany your child at lunch in our VIP section. Thank you for your support and cooperation!

IMMUNIZATIONS

Thank you to all 7th grade and select 6th/8th grade parents for your cooperation with getting immunizations in! Our numbers are slowly decreasing. We are less than half way there. We are expecting to have no students in need of returning immunizations by the end of this week. All scholars did receive a reminder letter, and we have been notifying parents by phone. Please be sure to return all required documentation to avoid any future concerns. We need all scholars in school, focused on instruction and success! Please contact nurse Cole-Chatmon at tcolecha@springisd.org and 289-891-7723 with questions.
