Weekly Newsletter
This week, I am excited to shine the spotlight on our El Camino Food Pantry which is managed by one of our teachers, Kathy Easterbrook.
The ECHS Food Pantry is open daily after school in room 508 from 3:20 pm - 3:45 pm. Students in need of nutrition can stop by for a snack or shop for groceries for their families. Parents are welcome too! We receive most of our food from our partnership with the San Diego Food Bank. Donations are welcomed through our sponsor Nourish North County. https://www.paypal.me/nourishnnc1.
Last year, the ECHS Food Pantry and Nourish North County was named as the Agency of the Month. Congratulations to Mrs. Easterbrook! We appreciate her ongoing support and dedication to assist in meeting the needs of so many of our scholars and their families!

Thank You!
I want to personally thank you for your efforts to help us! I sent out a call asking for you to help us reduce the potential spread of Covid-19 by keeping your child at home if they showed any symptoms and by not sending your child to school if anyone in your home was positive for Covid. We have seen a significant reduction in the number of students we've had to send home as close contacts! Please continue to monitor your child for symptoms, keep them home if they are feeling ill, and stay safe!!
PSAT Day - October 13, 2021
News for the Week...
- Renaissance STAR: Recently, your students took the Renaissance STAR Assessments in Math and English (Reading). The Star Assessments are short tests that provide teachers with learning data. Star tests are computer adaptive, which means they adjust to each answer your child provides. Students will take the STAR Assessments three times a year to show their progress and growth throughout the school year and assist in preparing for the CAASPP assessments. If you are interested in receiving STAR Assessment reports, parents can sign up to receive future emails from Renaissance when students take the assessment.
- Chromebook Insurance: If you have not had an opportunity to purchase insurance for your child's district provided Chromebook device, the deadline to do so is quickly approaching! Thursday, September 30th will be the last day parents can purchase insurance for their child's Chromebook. Please check out the flyer for more information and to purchase insurance.
- Lunchtime Fast Food Delivery Concerns: Parents, we have seen a huge increase in the number of students ordering food for delivery to ECHS during lunch. Please know that we do not have the manpower or capacity to monitor the deliveries and cannot guarantee that your child will receive their food. Monitoring the deliveries is not a part of the job for our security as they are working to keep our campus safe. Therefore, we do NOT recommend students have food delivered to campus.
- Alternative Household Income Form: This message is a friendly reminder that the Alternative Household Income Form is available online at https://alternativehouseholdincomeform.oside.us. You may have already filled this information out when completing data confirmation during registration. The Alternative Household Income Form must be filled out annually. If you have not already done so, please complete an Alternative Household Income Form. In high school, this information may also qualify students for reduced charges for tests such as Advanced Placement (AP) Exams as well as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
