Party times are as follows: Kindergarten and 1st grade 12-1 p.m., 2nd grade and 3rd grade 1-2 p.m., 4th grade and 5th grade 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friendship gram order forms have gone home and grams will be distributed during the party. Also, I am sending home a class list in your child's B.E.E. book so they can create valentines, if they'd like to do so. Please also send a box or bag with your child next Friday so they have a place to store their valentines from their buddies. Please let me know if I can help by supplying valentines or a box/bag for your kiddo! If you have any questions, please call or email me.

Words of the Week- yellow, know, away, his, play
Words Their Way Sort- 33 ang, ing, ong, ung
Word Family Pattern- ow (snow, blow, low, etc.)
Reading:
Next week, we will use fictional stories to discuss point of view, or the voice of the story. We will ask ourselves, "Who is talking in the story?" We will also discuss how the story might change if told from a different character's perspective. I am excited to see how this skill will help them further their comprehension of fictional stories!
Writing:
We are continuing to write nonfiction texts by writing about an object next week. Please send something with your child next week that is small but meaningful. We will be writing an "All About" piece using that object so please make sure it is something they would be comfortable writing a lot about! :)
Math:
We will wrap up Big Idea 1 from Unit 5 next week and begin Big Idea 2. We will be graphing the pre and post test data from Big Idea 1, so be on the look out for that information and get ready to praise your child for their progress! :)
Science:
Since we have been discussing our bodies and nutrition, next week we will be discovering ways to maintain good dental health. The kiddos have enjoyed all the ways we have explored staying healthy!
Thank you for another great week of learning! Please call or email me with any of your questions. I hope you have a blessed and restful weekend!
