East China School District, grades 6-12, will be hosting parent-teacher conferences this year by teleconferencing. At RVE, we are going to be trying something different all together. Instead of you signing up for a time, Mr. Stier, Mr. Iafrate and Mrs. Jarsma will be reaching out to you by phone during scheduled conference times. One of the three teachers will be calling you during scheduled times to discuss how your student is performing. If you should happen to miss the call, feel free to call back at your convenience or email one of the teachers.
Conference schedule for this year (grades 6-12):
Wednesday, October 13th Conferences: 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm
Thursday, October 14th Conferences: 12:15 pm until 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm until 8:00pm
We look forward to talking to you during parent-teacher conferences.
News!
In the fall of 2015, one young student found himself heading down the wrong path. After being kicked out of school and put on probation, he enrolled in an alternative high school in Marine City, Michigan. Through project-based learning, he began to flourish. In talking with other students, he realized there is a huge need in this area for a teen center. The vision started as Kyle's class project, and by enlisting the help of teachers, students, and community leaders, his vision is becoming a reality.
Over five years in the making, River Rec Teen Zone is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a strong board, teen advisors, and volunteers. Each individual brings with them an incredible background in youth enrichment, as well as being proven leaders that understand the importance of community and youth nurturance.
With the support of our community, River Rec Teen Zone is continuing to offer after-school enrichment opportunities with an official re-opening scheduled for later this fall. In the meantime, RRTZ is hosting a spooktacular haunted house every Friday and Saturday evening during the month of October with proceeds benefiting future River Rec programs and projects. In addition, with the support of the Community Foundation of St. Clair County's Blue Water Arts Committee, St. Clair Art Association, Diversity Initiative of St. Clair County, and a grant from Generator-Z, RRTZ will be hosting a series of artist mentor opportunities that will partner area youth with professional artists and musicians. Students will have the opportunity to hear the artists' stories, share in live performances, demonstrations, and ultimately work collectively on a series of public art projects. Follow River Rec Teen Zone for news and updates on future opportunities.

· A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50)
Only one monthly service discount and one device discount is allowed per household.
The FCC has announced that consumers can begin applying for and enrolling in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program on May 12, 2021. The program will end when the fund runs out of money, or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares an end to the COVID-19 health emergency, whichever is sooner.
