Halfway Point!
We started 2nd semester this week, and that means our school year is halfway over. Time really does fly when you're having fun!
Please join us in welcoming George Fairhart to the White Pass staff; he will be teaching PE/health this semester and is our new head track and football coach. Mr Fairhart comes to us with a great deal of experience in athletics, including state championships! He is a lifetime resident of our area and will be our new Athletic Director next year with exciting plans to move our athletic programs forward. Mrs. Cole will be out on leave for most of the semester, and Mrs. Berryman will be taking over her math classes.
Basketball and cheer are wrapping up for the season, and that means spring sports are just around the corner. We offer softball and baseball for the high schoolers as well as track and field for JH and HS students. Track is more than just running... there are jumping and throwing events as well. Students just need a current physical, athletic packet and a willing attitude to participate in sports. You can contact our main office with any questions or if you need paperwork.
Spring semester moves quickly, so keep an eye out for updates and announcements about events and activities. Please follow us on Facebook and bookmark our school website to stay in the know.
Volunteers needed! We are planning dances and other activities and will need your help. You can get volunteer clearance packets from our main office.
Thank you, White Pass community. It's great to be a Panther!

Resources
Does your student need clothing or other essentials? We have lots of coats, sweatshirts and other items in our Panther Pantry. We also stock hygiene items such as deodorant, toothpaste and soap. Students can check with any staff member to access the Pantry, and this is always confidential. We will soon need warm weather shorts and Tshirts. If you have any gently used or new items to donate, you can drop those off at our main office.
Do you know about our FREE tutoring? GEARUP provides tutors here on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, and there is a bus home afterward. If your student is struggling with school work or just needs to finish up some work, come to the College/Career Center for tutoring. They have snacks!
Lewis County has a new free resource for families called Safe Harbor. This is a one stop directory to behavioral health and community services in Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Lewis and Pacific counties. Safe Harbor aims to increase knowledge and awareness of mental well-bring, to provide information about systems of support and increase access to care.
