Science - Mrs. Sexton

Due to ACT Aspire testing this week, I will not see all of my classes everyday. We will be participating in review activities to prepare for Science PASS testing. This test will be given next week on Thursday, May 7th. Students will be given an extra credit activity on Friday, May 1st. This extra credit will count as a 100 test grade. No partial credit will be given. Students must follow the directions below - precisely - and meet the deadline.

In order to receive the extra credit students must make the required flashcards and bring in a note on Thursday, May 7th that states an adult has taken the time to help their child use these cards to study for Science PASS. Credit will only be given if the cards and letter are given to me on testing day (NOT BEFORE!) in a Ziploc bag or envelope labelled with the child's name and science class period.

Science - Mrs. Griffin

The students will be reviewing for PASS testing. Our schedule will vary this week depending on altered ACT Aspire schedule. The students will need to check Google Classroom for instructions on homework each night starting on Monday.

Math - Mr. Smith

7th grade math students are studying probability (Chapter 16). We will have a quiz on this topic on Monday. The review work you did on Wednesday (answer key on line) is a good place to start. The remainder of the week will be spent on review and ACT Aspire testing.

Check this out for a free program to help your child stay on track in math!

Social Studies & ELA - Mrs. Padgett

Mrs. Padgett's seventh grade Social Studies class will continue PASS review. They will be working on days 4-8 of the PASS review packet.

Mrs. Padgett's seventh grade ELA class will be working on an ACT Aspire test-taking skills review on Monday. On Tuesday through Friday, they will be reading the short story "A Rose for Emily." There will NOT be a stem list because of ACT Aspire testing.

Dance - Mrs. Brewington

7th dance focus: End of Year showcase dance rehearsal begins and we explore our patriotism. On Fridays, we will learn song/dance for EYS opening/closing number. Dance Injuries Google Slide presentation was due April 2nd. Students were given a chance to resubmit with corrections by April 24th. EYS t-shirt money was due April 24.

Art - Mr. Winchester

7th grade Art FOCUS will begin work on a monochromatic color study where they will paint a landscape using one color plus the tints and shades of that color. This piece will be featured on stage in the EYS (End of the Year Showcase).

Drama - Mrs. Keenan

7th Grade Drama Rotation just completed original puppet scenes. They wrote moral stories and created puppets to perform their scenes for the class. See photo of puppets!

7th Grade Drama Focus is continuing to work with the rest of the grade on the End of Year Showcase performance. We are learning more choreography for our music, and we are continuing to block our scene daily. The End of Year Showcase will be performed at 6 pm on Thursday, May 14.
