TAG TEAM 5 Weekly
Highlights from the week in 5th grade at UGE!
Week 2: "It was fun and very educational!" (Andrew N.)
We started off the week with a visit from Mr. Dodd, a civil war historian, who shared about the Civil War with all of 5th grade. He taught us a lot about what happened in this war and showed us pictures of artifacts that were found at Nash Farms. He also invited us to do a project to be displayed at Nash Farms on September 25. Mark your calendars and please plan to attend! (Andrew N.)

Socratic Seminar: Character Analysis
Our fabulous students read a chapter in Shades of Gray (Carolyn Reeder), analyzed the main character, Will, and then discussed their analysis with friends. Students engaged in conversation about their analysis of Will, being sure to include quotes from the text to support their position. Following the session, students reflected on the Socratic seminar style and the benefits to learning. So proud of them!
