CHS Weekly Update
Week 16: 12-15-19
Winter Break is Here!
We've made it to Winter Break! This week will surely fly by with everything we have going on in the building (second spirit week, basketball/hockey, band concert, alumni picnic with the principal, and some learning sprinkled in). This weekend, I had the opportunity to see our choir's 4th annual Feast and it was really amazing. When I think back to where it and our choir began, it's pretty spectacular to see how the growth in this program. Congratulations and a job well done, Mr. Vandergriff.
Other Things on My Mind...
- It's Spirit Week - Let's show how much we can get into the holiday spirit
Monday - (Let It Snow) Wear white
Tuesday - (December Down Under) Wear summer fashions
Wednesday - (Happy Holidays!!) Dress for your favorite holiday
Thursday - (Movie Day) Dress as your favorite movie character or wear movie-inspired apparel
Friday - (Ugly Sweater Day) Voting for best ugly sweater at staff party!
- Can I just say how impressed I am with our staff's drive to take on a challenge? We already have 10 people signed up for our phone call challenge. Don't know what I'm talking about, please make sure to check out Matt Moll's email regarding this challenge. I know the prizes for this and am so excited for all of the participants! Sign-up will end tomorrow at 3 pm.
- Thanks to those of you who participated in our first after school CSI meeting. I'm really excited by the strength in numbers we have to work towards the projects we are working on. We are going to continue to work on Portrait of a Graduate, our strategies/goals that go with it, and advisory. One additional item that we will be considering is that given the changes/shifts that our students need to make, what changes/shifts/ideas/attitudes/approaches do our staff need to embrace? Being explicitly clear about the work and approach to that work (adult actions and behaviors) is an often overlooked step in the school improvement process that if done well takes everything to the next level. If you are interested in contributing your awesome ideas to any of this work, please contact Trish, Katie, Patrick, or me and we would love to make that a reality (even if meetings don't necessarily fit in your after school obligations).
- We have our band holiday concert this Wednesday at y:00 pm and choir holiday concert at 6:30 pm on Thursday. Come check out an awesome opportunity to get into the holiday spirit.
- Have an amazing week! I truly hope that you enjoy this week that leads up to 2 well-deserved weeks of rest, relaxation, and fun! I hope you enjoy the holidays and have an amazing new year!
