Weekly Update- April 11, 2021
Hybrid Learners,
We are excited for the return of hybrid students to 4 days a week of in-person learning starting April 20. Preparations are underway as we add additional desks to classrooms. We will keep students seated 6 feet apart when possible, but in several classrooms students will sit closer than 6 feet apart, but at least 3 feet apart.
Students seated in the cafeteria will be less than 6 feet apart, but at least 3 feet apart. At these distances, due to contact tracing, students will initially be allowed to pick where they want to sit at the table and then that seat will become their every day seating in the cafeteria . They are welcome to move later but will need to see the dean to help with the adjustment
These distances are within School Board parameters and due to Harmony's high rate of hybrid return. To help with seating we will also be looking at optional (and weather permitting) outdoor seating in the courtyard and 6 feet apart desks in café. For questions, please contact the grade level dean.
April 16 is NOW an Asynchronous Learning Day
Mental Health Awareness Week
Next week is Mental Health Awareness Week! We will have activities each day, and we hope all students will participate. For this year, the themes include:
- Mindful Monday
- Turn it up Tuesday
- Wellness Wednesday
- Thankful Thursday
- Fitness Friday
This past year has been a challenging one. This is especially true for adolescents and their mental health. Harmony’s Unified Mental Health Team wants to make sure that we address a wide range of coping skills in the event that our students begin to feel overwhelmed and anxious – or begin to experience any other decline in their mental health. Here are the first two links to get you started:
We are looking forward to seeing everyone get involved!
