SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY
Attention students in need of service hours! The HHS Media Center is in need of assistance with prepping materials for projects for our Voice and Choice. If you are looking for service hours for your club or college application, please reach out to us to coordinate a time you can come in and help. Please contact meberle@hobart.k12.in.us or stop in and see us.

OPPORTUNITIES & ACTIVITES IN THE MEDIA CENTER
During lunches we offer a quiet space for studying, reading, and calm time. We have lots of new books, the classics, graphic novels, and magazines, to name a few. We encourage all students to READ! Need Help finding a good book - just ask for help!
PLEASE ENTER THE MEDIA CENTER IN A QUIET MANNER & SIGN IN!!!
We strive to have a CALM , SERENE, environment where EVERYONE feels welcome!!
NO FOOD or Beverages are to be brought into the Media Center. Our hot cocoa/coffee products may be enjoyed in the Media Center.
PLEASE BE CAREFUL with your hot cocoa since we have lots of new furniture.
DOORS - During lunches ONLY the doors leading to the HHS Great Hall can be used to ENTER and EXIT the Media Center!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THE NORTH DOORS ACROSS FROM GUIDANCE.
E-HALL PASS - is ONLY ACCEPTED from a classroom teacher for specific projects/ assignments for their class. Students cannot come to library media center during study hall to work. Students can come anytime, with an E- HALL PASS to print or check out books.

SIGN UP ON THE CALENDER located on the checkout counter. Please email us when you would like to bring your classes to the Media Center. If you need specific materials pulled, we will be happy to accommodate you with available materials.

PRINTING - We have 2 printers available in the Library/Media Center. Students must have a pass in order to come to the MC to print their work. Students arriving without a pass will be sent back to class.
CHROMEBOOKS -
Any student who is having issues can have a staff member write a Proxy E-Hall Pass to the Media Center so we can look at the device and resolve the issue.
VOICE & CHOICE - Because we are working with a class during VOICE & CHOICE, we cannot assist students from classrooms for any reason - tech issues, printing, checking out books, etc. Students needing assistance can come in for help before our after this time frame.
WEDNESDAYS - WE ARE CLOSED EVERY WEDNESDAY FROM 1:15 - 2:00pm.
Mrs. May and Mr. Jenkins can help with Canvas issues & other log-in issues. Their office is located in the NW corner of the Media Center. They are not always in the office, so please email them first before sending students to the Media Center.

TEMP DEVICES AND CHARGERS - No temp Chromebooks or chargers are available for a day...REMIND STUDENTS - remember your Chromebook every day! Be excellent on purpose!
Chargers are $30. Our Chromebooks require C-type chargers. They can also be purchased online through an outside vendor such as Amazon.

What Should I Read?
If you've been in a reading slump or noticed you haven't had the thrill of books since your elementary days, here is a great podcast to give you a little inspiration for a reading list. "One Great Book" is a short weekly podcast the is just a few minutes long. During your listening, you will hear all about one recommendation that Anne Bogel has as she tries to hook you! The series is great because it is short and her description doesn't include spoilers, but reveals just enough about the story or characters to intrigue you. Tune in today and make it a regular on your playlist. You are sure to find something great to read this Fall!
