6th Grade International Celebration
Disney’s amazing 6th graders engaged in learning about countries around the world through reading, writing, speaking, listening, and eating! Students researched and presented their findings about a country that captured their interest and designed their learning on a pizza box donated from our local Little Caesars. To recognize their hard work and effort throughout this world geography unit, we concluded with an international celebration where families both volunteered and donated delicious foods from around the globe! Thank YOU to everyone that got involved to create an amazing spread of diverse foods and made this possible!

We had a great month in kindergarten and enjoyed celebrating thankfulness!
Requesting a Change in Learning Mode
At this time, families are eligible to request to change the learning mode for their student(s) for the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year. Families that are currently enrolled in in-person can switch to virtual, and families who are enrolled in virtual can switch to in-person. If you do not wish to switch your child’s learning mode, no action is necessary.
Requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Submitting the form linked in this email does not guarantee a request will be granted. Requests will be reviewed by building and district leadership and the parent/guardian will be notified. If approved, the change will be effective for the second semester (January 8 - June 7, 2024). Once a request has been approved, it will be for the duration of the second semester. Please carefully consider this semester-long commitment before submitting this application, as requests to change during the second semester will not be granted.
Additionally, please note that we have partnered with third party providers for the students’ daily instruction. We utilize Lincoln Learning for our K-6 students and Edgenuity for 7-12. A Fraser teacher will be assigned as your child’s mentor to help check in, keep him/her on track, and align the grading system with Fraser’s. The bulk of your child's instruction will be online and course content will be delivered by Lincoln Learning and Edgenuity. For younger students, a learning coach will be a critical piece in their success. The learning coach needs to support your child with daily instruction, content delivery, and technology. Please note, the District may change your child’s learning mode if appropriate academic progress is not met throughout the semester.
If you are interested in changing your child’s learning mode for the second semester, please fill out the application linked below. You will need to submit one request for each student.
Fraser Varsity Dance- Clinic for K-8 Students
Join the Fraser Varsity Dance Team on December 9th from 9:00AM-11:00AM for a dance clinic. The cost is $40/dancer- which includes the clinic, a tee shirt, and a performance on 12/15 at 7:00PM.
Lunch Aide Needed
Lunch aides are needed every M-F. These are paid positions and applicants must be capable of going outside in temperatures above 10 degrees. Interested candidates should contact Mrs. Porter at (586)439-6400 and complete an application HERE. We look forward to hearing from you!
Ready or not- the cold weather is here!
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons. We're starting to see MANY students bundled up each day, which is great! Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the winter. Our office has received several donations of winter gear. Please reach Disney's main office if you are in need of winter gear for your student.
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10+ degrees.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season. If items are labeled we will do our best to return them to students.
Parking Lot Reminders
We all know that the Disney parking lot is challenging at times, especially during the winter months. We understand that our dismissal can be stressful and intense with the high volume of car pickup students. From time to time it is important to review our procedures. If we all follow our parking lot procedures and practice patience, we will be able to quickly exit everyone safely
- Please stay all the way to the right in the pick-up line to allow others to enter the parking lot and thru traffic to pass
- Please refrain from parking anywhere other than designated parking spaces, this includes, parking in handicapped parking spots unless your handicap parking pass is properly displayed
- Please be distraction free - refrain from using cell phones, loud music, or other distracting activities. Pay attention and be on the lookout for people walking through the lots
- Please do not pull through the parking spaces to exit. Those parking should back out of parking spaces and utilize the thru traffic line to exit the parking lot.
- Please turn right on Kelly when exiting the parking lot for safety and to help assist with traffic flow.
- The driveway in the front of the school is for bus parking, emergency vehicles, and exiting traffic only. Please do not park or drop-off/pick-up students in the bus loop. Families may not park on Kelly and walk through the bus driveway at dismissal.
- Smoking and pets are not permitted on school grounds. Please leave your pets at home for the safety and comfort of all of our students and families.
