We will be enjoying poems by Shel Silverstein this week. Our focus will be on building comprehension skills.


Using the Shel Silversein poems as a guide, students will write poems with sensory details. We will also revise and edit our poems.


We will learn how to tell time to the hour and half-hour on a digital and analog clock.

Social Studies

On Tuesday we will being our new unit of study: Cause and Effect.

This unit will begin with a study of the effect of great leaders on our country. To go along with President's Day we will begin by learning about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.


Thank you to everyone who donated to our Valentine celebration! Thank you Mrs. Corts for coordinating our Love Bug craft, and to all of the parents that helped at the party.

We are currently at $19/lap for Boosterthon. We met our first goal of $10/lap and enjoyed some bubble gum, and now are almost to our second goal of $20/lap. If we get there, we will have a pajama day! Any student who gets a $2/lap pledge or a flat donation of $60 this weekend will receive a special prize on Tuesday.

Thank you Mrs. Marina for decorating our door area to go along with the theme: Highway USA. We are California Dreamin' and loving it!
