Mitten/Glove or Sock
Collection
(January 16th - 31st)
First grade wants to help students at HES. The cold weather is here and many times students forget gloves/mittens.
Socks are always needed in the nurse’s office.
The goal is to have your child purchase the item for donation. Students can use their own money or do chores around the house to buy an inexpensive item to be donated. Your student should also go with you to make the purchase of the item to be brought in.
Local stores that have good prices on gloves, mittens and socks are:
Dollar Store, Ocean State Job Lot, Christmas Tree Shop, and K-Mart/Walmart

Morning Music Selection of the Week at HES!
The Holberg Suite is a suite of five movements or sections based on eighteenth century dance forms, written by Edward Grieg in 1884 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Danish-Norwegian playwright Ludwig Holberg.
It is an example of nineteenth century music that uses musical styles and forms from the earlier centuries.
The suite begins with a Prelude or introduction, and this will be our music for this week. The other sections are based on eighteenth century dances.
The Holberg Suite was originally composed for the piano, but was adapted by Grieg himself for string orchestra.
