PRINCIPAL'S NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS
I shared this message with our staff a few weeks ago. I have tweaked it to protect the identity of the student, but the message is still the same. Sometimes we can lose focus on what's most important, especially during the holiday season. I am thankful I work with such wonderful people. Have a great weekend!
The Power of a Husky Gram
Awhile back I gathered the Husky Gram winners for a picture, and one of them asked if I would send the picture to their dad. They told me how they had earned 3 Husky Grams that week. I printed the picture off and wrote on the back “So happy that _____ is a Husky!” You can probably imagine the smile on their face when I presented them with the picture. I found out later that not only did the picture make it home, but that it had been framed and put on the wall.
This student has made a huge transformation from their first day here until now. This was possible because of the patience, love, and support our school has shown this student. Thank you.
Without getting into details, prior to moving to Columbus, they have not had an easy childhood.
But all that changed when they came to CSA Lincoln. You started seeing the positives. We sometimes might take for granted the importance of supporting positive behaviors, but can you imagine how much those three Husky Grams meant to them? Wow. They weren’t given, this student earned them.
As we enter the season of giving, I encourage you to continue to acknowledge the achievements our students earn. You never know what might be hanging up at home.

PARENT SURVEY
Please click HERE to complete the survey. The new format is mobile friendly*.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, December 18th. To encourage participation, the grade level with the highest percentage of parents who complete the survey (your response is anonymous, but it does require you to list the grade level of your student) will win a prize. If you have more than one child at our school, check all grade levels that apply. You do not need to send your survey results in as proof of participation. The survey will take care of it!

Project Update
Our Kindergarten classes are going to be spreading holiday cheer while working with the Salvation Army to make fleece blankets for the 19 residents at their Booth Manor Apartments.
First grade students finished up their Fireman's Cheer Fund project with a trip to the United Way building to help pack the goodies that are donated.
Second graders are learning about what holiday celebrations look like around the world. They are learning about many different cultures and countries. This week they learned about Mexico, England, and Germany.
Third graders wrapped up their Rube Goldberg project with a field trip to the WonderLab Museum in Bloomington, Indiana.
Fourth grade kicked off their project with Love Chapel. They are collecting canned and boxed goods, paper or reusable bags, hotel sized toiletries and gently used books. The greatest need being the food and bags. Donations will be collected until December 9th.
Fifth grade are working hard on completing all the projects for their upcoming Holiday Shop. The money collected will help pay for their JA Biztown trip.
