Arthritis
What it is and what it does to your body.
What is Arthritis
In general Arthritis is normally joint inflammation that can cause stiffness and pain, through out your entire body shoulders, ankles, knees, fingers, ect.
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) can effect your not only your joints but your skin eyes and mouth when people get RA its can cause eye inflammation, lumps of tissue can build up under the skin and studies have shown that gum disease has been more likely to happen to people with this kind of arthritis. I have included this because it is the most common
Psoriatic Arthritis
Psoriatic Arthritis is probably the worst type of arthritis in my opinion because it causes high levels of joint pain stiffness in the joints, psoriasis and swollen joints, which is an itchy painful skin disease. This type of Arthritis is normally treated with steroids or biologics depending on the person
30% of people who have psoriasis also develop psoriatic arthritis if its left untreated it can lead to permanent joint damage. Everyone with psoriatic arthritis has skin and joints affected, for 15% of people get the arthritis first and the other 15% get the psoriasis first but do not recognize it as psoriasis.
How is Psoriatic Arthritis found?
Psoriatic Arthritis is found by using one of two different techniques Joint aspiration which is using a needle to withdraw fluid from a swollen joint and have test ran on it to rule out gout and other forms of arthritis. The other way is taking X-Rays to check for joint damage.
