Mononucleosis is spread through saliva... This includes sharing eating utensils, drinks, lip gloss, and kissing. Because it takes about 4 weeks for symptoms to appear, a person who's infected can spread the virus without even knowing it.

#DoGoodFromHome

NJHS is promoting a #DoGoodFromHome challenge which was introduced to all MS students during the PBIS presentations last week. The basic premise is students participate in simple kind/positive acts and for each one posted to social media w/the hashtag #DoGoodFromHome, Hasbro will donate a toy or game to organizations providing care to the children of essential workers. Our MS students can either post their #DoGoodFromHome acts directly to their own social media, or send them to Mrs. Mereness through Schoology.

Gananda Dollars for Scholars News and Events

GDFS is Looking for Volunteers

There are so many good reasons to volunteer. Contact GDFScholars@gananda.org if you are interested to learn more!

Meet our Awards Chairperson, Jill Escriva to learn why shes volunteers and why you should too!

"Like many Gananda Dollars for Scholars volunteers, I started with this organization when my sons were approaching high school age. I expected that they would be eligible for scholarships and I wanted to help make that happen.

What I didn’t realize when I signed on, somewhat selfishly, was how many other students I would be helping go to college. During my time with Gananda Dollars for Scholars, we have coordinated scholarships for around 500 recipients. Of course, this wasn’t just through my efforts but I am proud to have played my part. Volunteering for Gananda Dollars for Scholars has been fulfilling and enjoyable. I’ve met many dedicated, hard-working, creative people.

My youngest son graduated from Gananda over eleven years ago. There are two benefits to being a “legacy parent” volunteer. I have experience with Gananda Dollars for Scholars and the college/scholarship process. I also don’t know most of the current high school students, which

allows me to better participate in the anonymous scholarship selection process.

Gananda Dollars for Scholars volunteers include parents, former students, community members and student helpers. We value the effort and personal insight that everyone brings

to the table. Please consider joining us to help make scholarships happen for local students."
