Staffing Plan Approval
The Board approved the district staffing plan for the 2023-2024 school year. Staffing is based on the educational needs of the students as well as the district’s class size guidelines.
iPad Device Lease Renewal
Each year the District updates and renews a four-year technology lease. Students in first- and fifth-grades will receive new leased iPads. The District will purchase 410 iPads for the yearly lease payment of $37,691. The lease also includes 20 laptop computers that will replace aging desktop computers in the Daniel Wright Stem classroom.
Enrollment Projections
The Board reviewed districtwide enrollment projections for the next five years as well as incoming kindergarten enrollment. There are 110 kindergarten students enrolled for next year, which is ahead of last year’s enrollment at this time.
Approval of Bus Lease
The Board renewed its lease contract with Midwest Transit Equipment. The estimated cost for a 2-year lease will be $582,955 a year for all vehicles.
Virtual Job Fair
The District attended a virtual job fair earlier this month where administrators interviewed 45 people for positions that are available now and in the fall. Dr. Scott Warren, Superintendent, said the virtual platform is a great way to meet new candidates that the district may not normally encounter with initial in-person interviews.
Board of Education Meeting
The next Board of Education meeting will occur at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 11. The notice and agenda can be found on the District 103 Board meeting website page.
