Note about the Florida Trip in April: The WorldStrides company recently made us aware of a payment option called “extended payment plan.” This gives you several additional months in which to spread out payments for the trip. If you choose to use this plan, you must ask for it as they will not offer it to customers unless it is requested.
Biology - Mr. Funk
Monday - Finish discussing 9-3. Note Quiz over 9-3.
Tuesday - Work on Photosynthesis Activity (This will be due on Monday, November 28th.
(At this point we are done with the chapter and will be having a test soon after we get back from Thanksgiving Break. Students should be studying for mini assessments and the chapter test.)
Biology with Mrs. Elder- Students have finished chapter 8 and moving into chapter 9 on photosynthesis. Students may do a retest on chapter 8 (if desired) on the Monday or Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
Math - Algebra students took a Vocab Quiz on Wednesday and Test on Unit 3, Linear Equations and Graphs, on Thursday. We will complete a section on "Absolute Value Functions" Friday and Monday, with a mini assessment Tuesday. We will start Unit 4 "Equations of Linear Functions" when we return from Thanksgiving Break. Thank you and enjoy your weekend! Mrs. Blount
Pre-Algebra students continued working in Unit 4 this week and will complete the last lesson of Unit 4 this coming week. We will review for 2 days when we return from the Thanksgiving Holiday break and take the Test Wednesday, Nov. 30. Please check Skyward and have your child get caught up on their missing work so they are prepared for the Test when they return. Thank you, Mrs. Blount
Geometry students completed Chapter 3 "Transformations" this week and took the Test Thursday and Vocab Quiz Friday. We will begin Chapter 4 "Congurent Triangles" this coming week. Have a great weekend! Mrs. Blount
ESOL: We are almost finished with our Thanksgiving study. The students have learned a lot about the beginnings of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The students are growing so fast in the acquisition of speaking and writing the English language. I am so impressed by how quickly they are learning.

ELA - This week students submitted their informational essays and presented their topics either in class or virtually. We also worked on close reading an informational text called “Animals in Translation”. Next week we will be doing some activities to review figurative language.
Please check your students’ Skyward to make sure they are turning their assignments in on time. The deadline to submit late assignments will be Friday, December 2nd at 3pm.
World History - Students will turn in their historical hoodie project by Tuesday, November 22. We will begin our new unit after Thanksgiving on the Industrial Revolution.
In this season of reflection as we near Thanksgiving, I want you all to know I am very thankful to teach 9th grade at Patton. It has been a fantastic year, I enjoy your students so very much and am thankful for your support at home.
PE- All is well in PE. Mr. Amon’s classes will be finishing up Alaskan Kickball and Mrs. Dreiling’s classes Scatter Ball. We hope everyone has a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. If traveling please be safe. Please check with your student on the days they will have PE. Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have for your student!
*We will look to go outside as much as possible for PE (weather permitting). Please help us in reminding our students to bring water bottles, a jacket, and tennis shoes every day they have PE.

Drama- Drama 8/9 – At this writing, we have 9 rehearsals left before the Drama 8/9 students will dazzle you. Along with 4 small ensemble pieces, the show will feature 3 of the students sharing their Reader’s Theater scripts from earlier this year. I look forward to you sharing in the students’ success.

Art- Art students continued working on the Henri Matisse inspired Collage. Students decided on a theme and a background color, then cut out their shapes, while gluing them down in an interesting composition using craftsmanship.
