LED Lighting- The Way Towards Greener Planet
LED (Light Emitting Diodes) are the latest and most exciting technological advancement in the lighting industry. LEDs operate differently than traditional incandescent light bulbs. LEDs are currently being used for a wide variety of applications such as: residential lighting, aerospace, architectural lighting, automotive, aviation, broadcasting, electronic instrumentation, entertainment and gaming, industrial automation and controls, the military, traffic and safety & transportation. LED furniture’s and visual display are too in trend these days.
The advantages of the LED lights are fairly obvious. In an attempt to ‘go green’, everyone is looking for the best solution to lower the electrical need and yet bring quality, longevity and colour. The LED light actually uses less electricity than those newer curled compact fluorescent electric bulbs and the best part of all is that they don’t contain mercury like the standard CFL bulbs (another ‘green’ plus for LED).
There are enormous uses of LED lighting:
1. Energy Efficient- Today’s most efficient way of illumination and lighting, with an estimated energy efficiency of 80%-90% when compared to traditional lighting and conventional light bulbs.
2. Durable Quality- LEDs are extremely durable and built with sturdy components that are highly rugged and can withstand even the roughest conditions.
3. Zero UV Emission- LED illumination produces little infrared light and close to no UV emissions.
4. Low-voltage- A low-voltage power supply is sufficient for LED illumination. This makes it easy to use LED lighting also in outdoor settings, by connecting an external solar-energy source and is a big advantage when it comes to using LED technology in remote or rural areas.
By far the most energy efficient, the cleanest and most eco- friendly way of illumination is LED lighting, which is basically digital light and it comes with a multitude of amazing benefits.
