February Library Update
February 11, 2020
Thank You!
Thank you for helping the library run so smoothly! So far this year, over 8,391 books have been checked out by our Huskies. WOW! It looks like our Fiction Section and Early Readers are quite popular with a combined check out percentage of 66%! Thanks to YOU all for reminding students that they can check out books throughout the day, outside of their library time. Let's keep encouraging our Huskies to pick out just right books and read, read, read! :)
Collaboration In the Library
Dallas Zoo Project
Students in Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grade will spend the next few weeks creating a mock-up of the Dallas Zoo to display at Open House on March 5th. Students will be responsible for creating the animals, building the habitats, and creating all of the wonderful things that make the Dallas Zoo so fun!
Spin Tops
3rd grade kids are using their creative design skills to create Spin Tops that will be displayed during Open House. Students had to create two design options, and this week they will get the chance to create them!

We are available to support activities in the classrooms at your intervention times. Just schedule an appointment with us to come and support in your classrooms.

Library Reminders
- On your library day, please try and have all books returned by 9:00 am-This helps our volunteers! Thank you for being so great about this!
- Per district policy, library classes cannot be rescheduled, however, you can always come down as a class to checkout or send students in small groups. This helps keep my schedule open and flexible so I can plan/teach lessons with teachers outside of library time.
- Continued thanks for staying during your class library lesson or returning for the last 15 minutes! This is so helpful for our kiddos!
- I would love to co-teach a lesson with you! Research, reading, science...you name it! Send me an e-mail if you have a certain subject or topic coming up that I could help support you!
- Need books for a lesson? Be sure to ask and I will get those pulled!
Upcoming Lesson Ideas
Let me know if you are interested in me teaching/co-teaching any of the following lessons to your classes:
- Dr. Seuss's Birthday is March 2nd, so we will have some fun activities dedicated to all of his work
