Bus Schedule Changes Wednesday, October 6th

Over the past month, our morning bus arrival time has been later than desired. Although students are arriving before the 8:00 am bell, some students are given passes to go to class late so that they may eat breakfast. Cape Destination did not anticipate some of the traffic congestion that resulted from the increased amount of residents now on Cape Cod. This traffic was not a factor last year as we had two start times. Therefore, we are revising the morning bus schedules for students to get them to school a little earlier.

This new bus schedule will begin on Wednesday, October 6th. We wanted the opportunity to remind students from the weekend on Tuesday. (Note: Monday is a No-School Day for students for teacher and staff professional development.) The bus schedules can be found at the link below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school at 508-432-4500 ext 2100.

September 27th Newsletter

Cape Cod Tech Community

It is the last week of September, and the fall season is upon us. Tomorrow I will be sending a special message about bus schedules changing. Due to new traffic patterns which are making several of our buses run late in the morning, we are adjusting the schedules. Students will be given a paper copy of the new bus times during this week, but we will not put them into effect until next week. (I would have included them in this message, but I found one issue with the schedule that I need to clarify with Cape Destinations before publishing.)

We have a few other notices this week including the Homecoming Date. Remember that Wednesday is an early dismissal. See all the info below and look for the October Newsletter next week. I also continue to post over previous newsletters. You can find our Newsletter from September 20th below, in case folks needed to review some of the previously shared information.

Parents and Guardians,

Click here for a link on how to use the Community Portal. This is a step-by-step guide on how to use our SchoolBrains Community Portal. Just follow the directions to access your student's grades, report cards, attendance and discipline reports.

Please Complete Forms Below

Below this section, you will find some forms for you to complete and information to help your student and your family to navigate the year. The emergency form is essential for your student. It allows us to distribute OTC medication and reach other contacts in case of an emergency. In the past, we would have parents complete this on paper. This year we have an easier electronic form. Below the emergency form, you will find links to other forms and documents. For ones that you need to submit, please either print or make a copy, complete the form, sign it, and send it in with your child. If you have any questions, please let us know at 508-432-4500 ext 2000

For the 2021-22 school year, we are offering an extra layer of protection to prevent the spread of COVID-19, our COVID-19 testing program at school. This program has two components: symptomatic testing for students who show symptoms of COVID-19 at school and test and stay for students who may have been exposed while in school but are not showing symptoms. You will find information below in multiple languages to help explain the program.

Yesterday Massachusetts Education Commissioner Jeffrey C. Riley received the authority to mandate masks for all public K-12 students, educators, and staff through October 1 to ensure schools fully reopen safely and to provide time for more students and educators to get vaccinated. After October 1, the commissioner’s policy would allow middle and high schools to lift the mask mandate for vaccinated students and staff only if the school meets a certain vaccination rate – at least 80 percent of students and staff in a school building are vaccinated. Unvaccinated students and staff would still be required to wear masks. DESE also updated a Mask Mandate for the first few weeks. Cape Cod Tech is close but has not hit the 80% threshold. If a few more students get the vaccine, then we may meet that 80% threshold by October 1st.
